Terraesthetics – Principle 2

Maintainability – As tempting as it might be for some folks to add all sorts of rare and exotic plants to your landscape, it is not the wisest choice when trying to reduce maintenance. In order to create a landscape that is maintainable without requiring you to be a slave to your garden, plant choices should be limited to species and varieties that are naturally suited to the growing conditions of the area. This in turn will reduce the need for pesticides, will lower the amount of water needed and will reduce equipment needs lowering the cost of maintaining the landscape. Creating a Terraesthetic landscape that is maintainable must meet the individual needs of the homeowners as well as the site location.
