No yard is too small

I hear a lot of homeowners say their yards are too small to do anything with. There is no such thing as a yard too small. In fact the smaller the yard, the easier it is to landscape, the cost is less and the space becomes more user friendly. Think of it as an outdoor room. Decide what is important to you in the planning stage and add it to your list of needs. For instance…..you don’t want to have to mow the lawn every week during the growing season. Add no lawn to the list. You want it low maintenance….add that to the list as well. In fact, with a small yard properly landscaped, the maintenance of gardens becomes extremely minimal. I like to think of the gardens as the jewellry that accents the outfit. They are designed to separate and define the edges of a particular space, and nothing more. And planted appropriately for the location, will not require much work.
